When joe is preparing to shower after his work out, he suddenly remembers that he has a big exam in his microbiology class that night he has not studied. He has an extreme burst or sympathetic activation. Almost immediatley his brain realizes this isn't an emergency worthy of extreme stimulation, and has an over compensation reaction. his sympathetic tone goes WAY down and his parasympathtic tone goes WAY up. Joe faints. joe faints because his brain isn't getting enough O2. ( this is real reason for his faint spells called vasovagal syncope).
