Functionalist theorist argue that the first amendment is the most important amendment to the citizens of US.

Conflict theorists argue that the second amendment is the most important .The second amendment as a bill of right guarantees the right to keep and bear arms for self defense ,protection of their property and families.They advocated for the rights to bear and keep arms not unlimited and not to preclude the existence of certain long-term standing prohibitions such as forbidding the possession of firearms by felons and mentally handicap or restriction on carrying of dangerous and unusual weapons .The amendment was based on the right to posses weapons for defense and resistance to oppression and and civil duty to take part in defense of the state.

Functionalist theorists argue that the first amendment is the most important Amendment because it protected the citizens democracy guaranteeing citizens democratic freedom of religion allows the people to believe and practice the religion they want and see fit for them independently.The amendment also gives the citizens freedom to speech and press which allow people to voice their public opinions and to publish them without any interference from the government. Democracy grants the people the freedom to review government performance and correct the government where it is deviating from the constitutional laws.
