o Edit the file name by changing “1” to “2”.
o If you do not see the .pptx file extension, do not type it. The file extension will be added for you automatically.
• To complete this Project, you will also need the following files:
o Support_PPT365_2021_CS8a_HMG.png
o Support_PPT365_2021_CS8a_Surgery.mp4
o Support_PPT365_2021_CS8a_Welcome.mp3
• With the file IL_PPT365_2021_CS8a_FirstLastName_2.pptx open, ensure that your first and last name is displayed in the presenter notes on Slide 1.
o If the presenter notes do not display your name, delete the file and download a new copy.
PROJECT STEPS
1. You are a communications specialist for Healthcare Management Group, a professional association for healthcare professionals, and are developing a presentation for your manager, Luis Arringo, to show to members. Insert an audio file as follows to attract attention to the presentation:
a. On the title slide ("Trends in Healthcare"), insert an audio clip from the file Support_PPT365_2021_CS8a_Welcome.mp3.
b. Position the audio clip in the lower-left corner of the slide.
c. Fix the audio clip to start playing Automatically.
d. Fix the audio clip to Loop Until Stopped.
e. Fix the volume to Low.
f. Hide the audio clip object during the slide show.
2. Change a slide master as follows to use a custom layout and design for some slides:
a. Switch to Slide Master View, and then duplicate the Comparison Layout.
b. Use Two Titles as the name of the new layout, replacing the placeholder name of 1_Comparison.
c. Insert the company logo from the file Support_PPT365_2021_CS8a_HMG.png.
d. Resize the logo to a height of 0.75" and a width of 1".
e. Crop the logo to a rectangle with rounded corners.
f. Move the logo to the lower-right corner of the slide master.
g. Close Slide Master View.
3. Switch to Handout Master View, and then customize the Handout Master as follows:
a. Enter Trends in Healthcare as the header text.
b. Change the font size of the header text to 20 point.
c. Change the handout orientation to Landscape.
d. Display 4 Slides per handout page.
e. Close Handout Master View.
4. Switch to Notes Master view, and then customize the Notes Master as follows:
a. Change the font size for notes to 14 point to make the notes easy to read.
b. Enter HMA as the footer text.
c. Change the font size of the footer text to 20 point.
d. Select an option to remove the date from the notes.
e. Close Notes Master view and return to Normal View.
5. Apply the new Two Titles layout to Slides 6 and 8.
6. Switch to Slide Sorter View and work with sections as follows to reorganize the slides:
a. Add a section between Slides 4 and 5.
b. Use Technology as the name of the new section.
c. Collapse all the sections, and then change their order as follows:
· Default Section
· Trends
· Benefits
· Technology
d. Expand all the sections, and then return to Normal View.
7. On Slide 2 ("Value, not volume"), remove the animations from the picture because they distract attention from the text boxes.
8. Continuing on Slide 2, add the Whoosh sound to the animation of the bottom text box, which is titled "New:".
9. Remaining on Slide 2, modify the animations of the text boxes as follows to make them more consistent:
a. Copy the animation from the bottom text box to the top text box, which is titled "Old:".
b. Use the Animation Pane to reorder the pictures so that the top text box is animated first.
c. Add a delay of 00.50 seconds to the animation of the bottom text box.
10. Still on Slide 2, switch to Notes Page View. On the Notes Page for Slide 2, add the following note, and then switch back to Normal View:
Value is the new buzzword in patient care.
11. On Slide 3 ("Wellness, not illness"), respond to the first comment from Luis Arringo as follows:
a. Type I agree. as the reply.
b. Delete the bullet point as Luis recommends.
c. Read the second comment, and then delete it since it is no longer needed.
d. Close the Comments pane.
12. Remaining on Slide 3, change the bullets as follows to use the same symbol in both text boxes:
a. Change all the round bullets in the bottom text box to diamonds (Symbol 168).
b. In the top and bottom text boxes, fix the size of the diamond bullets to 110% of the text.
13. On Slide 4 ("High tech, high touch"), remove the animation from the picture to match the use of animation on Slide 2.
14. On Slide 5 ("Why focus on value?"), format the slide background as follows to make the foreground content easier to read:
a. Change the transparency of the picture to 60%.
b. Change the Offset top and Offset bottom settings to 0%.
15. On Slide 6 ("Why wellness?"), adjust the background and text color as follows to add visual interest:
a. Apply the Dotted: 90% pattern fill to the slide background.
b. Change the font color of the text boxes containing the text "HIGHER QUALITY OF LIFE" and "WHOLE-HEALTH TYPES OF CARE" to White, Text 1 to make it easier to read.
16. Remaining on Slide 6, format the pictures as follows to maintain a consistent appearance:
a. Apply the artistic effect Pastels Smooth (4th column, 4th row in the Artistic Effects gallery) to the picture on the left.
b. Compress both pictures to E-mail (96 ppi) to reduce the file size of the presentation.
17. Still on Slide 6, add the following alt text to the picture on the right so that screen readers can identify the picture:

18. Still on Slide 6, animate the pictures as follows to draw attention to the slide:
a. Change the direction of the Fly In animations so that both pictures fly in From Left.
b. Add the Pulse Emphasis animation to the picture on the left, which is the third content placeholder listed in the Animation pane (Content Placeholder 11).
c. Change the Start setting of the new animation so that it plays After Previous.
19. Remaining on Slide 6, format the paragraph in the text box below the pictures as follows to make the text easier to read:
a. Change the left and right margins of the text box to 0.2" to display the text on two lines.
b. Format the text in 2 columns.
c. Change the column spacing to 0.5".
20. On Slide 7 ("What technology?"), add and modify animations to emphasize the two types of technology as follows:
a. Apply the Lines motion path animation to the "For providers and payers" text box.
b. Extend the Lines motion path animation in a straight line until the left edge of the "For providers and payers" text box is aligned with the left edge of the "3-D printing" shape.
c. Dim the text in the "For providers and payers" text box to aqua (the 7th color in the color choices) after the animation.
d. Add a trigger to the six animations of the "For patients" text box and the four violet shapes so that the animations start when the "Show More" button is clicked. (Hint: The "Show More" button is the Rounded Rectangle 12 shape.)
21. On Slide 8 ("Technology in healthcare"), insert and format a video as follows to show surgeons using robotic arms:
a. Use the content placeholder to insert the video Support_PPT365_2021_CS8a_Surgery.mp4.
b. Resize the video to a width of 7.5" and let the height resize automatically.
22. Still on Slide 8, modify the video as follows to help viewers focus on the content:
a. Fix the video to start playing When Clicked On.
b. Fix the video to Play Full Screen.
c. Trim the video so that it ends at the 00:05 mark. (Hint: Use the End Time text box to fix the exact time.)
d. Apply the Simple Frame, Black video style.
23. On Slide 9 ("By the numbers"), modify the column chart as follows to make the data more accurate and easier to interpret.
a. Change the column chart to a 2-D Pie chart.
b. Apply Style 3 to the pie chart to display percentages on the slices.
c. Change the chart colors to Monochromatic Palette 1.
d. Edit the chart data to use 53 as the value for Medical research.
24. Remaining on Slide 9, modify the table as follows to make the contents more understandable:
a. Split the header cell (the cell in row 1) into 2 columns and 1 row.
b. Move the text "Positive Responses" into the new cell (row 1, column 2).
c. Adjust the width of the cells in the first row to match the width of the cells in the other rows of the table.
d. Merge the cells in row 2.
e. Center the text in the merged cell.
f. Apply the shading Indigo, Accent 1, Lighter 60% (5th column, 3rd row in the Theme Colors palette) to the merged cell.
25. Create a summary zoom slide to display at the end of the presentation as follows:
a. Include Slides 2–7 in the summary zoom slide.
b. Type Top Three Trends as the title of the summary zoom slide.
c. Move the Summary Section to the end of the presentation.
26. Set up the slide show so that each slide is displayed for 7 seconds before automatically advancing to the next slide with no mouse clicks.
27. Create a custom slide show as follows to focus on the Trends and Benefits sections only:
a. Use Trends and Benefits as the name of the Custom Slide Show.
b. Include Slides 2–7 in the Custom Slide Show.
28. Check the accessibility of the presentation to make sure all viewers can understand the slides. Go to the slide that contains the accessibility error for Content Placeholder 11, and then type Add alt text for photo on the left as a note for that slide.
In Slide Sorter view, your presentation should look like the Final Figure on the following page. Save your changes, close the presentation, and exit PowerPoint. Follow the directions on the website to submit your completed project.
